It is a global supplier of analytical instruments, clinical development solutions, specialty diagnostics, laboratory, pharmaceutical and biotechnology services. Based in Waltham, Massachusetts, Thermo Fisher was formed through the merger of Thermo Electron and Fisher Scientific in 2006. Thermo Fisher announced a $2 billion investment over four years in the U.S., including $1.5 billion for expanding manufacturing capacity and $500 million for R&D investment.
